1/18/22

Went to work today and it was meatball and mashed potatoes day. I ate some before I went home and saved some for tomorrow after work. I cant wait!

I had a bad day at work because I got yelled at by my boss. She is a very sweet person and a great boss, but today she must of been having a bad day because she yelled at me for something that wasn't even my fault.

I'm the cashier and my lunch lady Amy ran out of fries, which I didn't know, because with all the loud kids I cant hear anything going on even a few feet away from me. I'm standing right next to the kids and I can't even hear them say their names most of the time. Anyway, my boss tells Amy to stop the kids while she goes and gets some mashed potatoes. After she leaves, Amy tells the kids if they dont want to wait for mashed potatoes, to go ahead and go through the line. Basically all the kids kept going because they didn't want to wait for the mashed potatoes. And when my boss came back with the mashed potatoes, there weren't any kids. So all those potatoes got wasted. Well Amy came up to me and said she got yelled at, and I asked her why and she told me. So while I'm doing dishes, my boss asked me to come in the office, and the other cashier was in there too. She starts yelling at us and tells us that if she says to stop the kids when she is going to get more food, not to let the kids go through the line. I tried to tell her that I had no idea she said to stop the kids. She wouldn't even listen to me. She just kept yelling. She was so mad. I tried again to say that if someone doesn't tell me to stop the line, how am I supposed to know to stop the line. Again she wouldn't let me talk. I didn't even get to say anything. I was so sad that she would think I wouldn't listen to her. Even when I don't agree with her, I always listen and do what I'm told because she's the boss. After all this I had to go eat my mashed potatoes and meatballs. I felt so mad, and sad, and I felt like crying. I hate being yelled at for something I had no clue about. But more than that, I hate not having the chance to explain myself. Turned out to be an annoying day.

Got home and wasn't feeling amazing so I took a nap. Lucy barked the whole time so I didn't get any good sleep.

Got up and Rody ordered Buffalo Wild Wings for us. Our order got messed up, so I called and they are sending us a gift card for the amount of our whole order. At least one of the hamburgers was right, it just had tomatoes on it. I ate it with the tomatoes and it was good. Tasted just like a Rally's burger lol. Rody had some sort of spicy chicken with spicy sauce and cabbage, peppers, pickles, and purple onion on his. He said it was super hot, but he ate it and said it was good. I'm not really sure what the kids had but Isaac got onion rings and didn't like them. And they forgot the kids drinks.

We cleaned up the house and did some laundry and then watched a Medicine Woman and then read the Bible and the kids went to bed.

I took this picture of Peyton in her pj's from Grammy, and Isaac came out and wanted me to take a picture of him. Haha he's so cute

Melissa called and we talked for a while. She told me that she drove to Mom and Dad's tonight. What a miracle she is. I love how God uses her to show us He is still working. Other ways too, but she is just such a walking miracle, I look at her and I am always reminded of the miracles God has done in her life.

After the kids were in bed Mom texted me that her brother my Uncle John died, he was only 70 and he died on his birthday. Sad news, even though I didn't really know him. I got on Facebook and saw this picture of him. I'm amazed at how much I think he looks like my grandpa.

Peyton held Lucy while I trimmed around her eyes. She can see again lol.

I didn't do much today because of being super crampy. Came home from work, took a nap and then we watched Medicine Woman and read the Bible. Then we went to bed.

1/17/22

We didn't have school today because its MLK day. I was very happy to be able to sleep in. Last night I couldn't sleep. I didn't go to sleep until 3am.

Isaac made some games on the game maker thing that Aunt Ann got him for Christmas. Peyton painted, but I helped her blend a little bit. She did a great job and loved painting, she's artistic like Kenzie.

Peyton and I watched the movie Little Women, we loved it. After that I took a nap.
We had tacos for dinner.
Mom and dad are home safe, which makes me so happy! Cant wait to hang out with them soon.
We watched Medicine Woman and then read the Bible. The kids begged to read another chapter. Again, I said no, even though I really wanted to too. We sure look forward to this Jacob and Esau story every night. Love it!

I found a cute frame for the painting. Peyton is going to love that its in a frame in the morning.
Weird thing happened. Kimmy and I were texting back and forth and we were talking about fish. I told her I liked moms salmon, but that's basically the only fish I like. We were talking about trying to make it for our family's and what are the odd's that this salmon recipe would be in the frame I put Peyton's painting in. Haha it was literally maybe 5 min after I talked to Kimmy about salmon. It was in the frame behind an old picture of Kenzie. So weird.

I'm going to fold laundry and then get to bed. I'm still really tired.

1/16/22

Got up and watched church online this morning, while the kids watched kids church online in our room.

After church, I started working on a groundhog I have to make for work. Everyone is supposed to make a groundhog and then Diane is going to pick a winner. I decided I wanted to make mine out of a sweater from Goodwill.

I just cut up the sweater and (horribly) sewed a body, arms, legs, and ears, and then filled each piece with stuffing from a old pillow. Then 2 buttons for the eyes, and I sewed the nose with black yarn and the teeth with white yarn. Then I used a silver metallic sharpie to color lighter spots on his face and belly and a little above the eyes. It looks a lot better in person haha. Peyton asked if I would make her one lol. I think it turned out pretty cute.

I washed Peyton's hair and then took her to choir practice. Then I went to Kohls to drop off a return from Amazon. They gave me $5 store credit, so I went all over looking for something for $5. No luck, just as I was about to leave, I saw this cute sweatshirt. It was the last one in my size. It was on sale for $12.50, and then I got $5 off with my coupon, and then the guy gave me an additional 15% off. It ended up being $5 something.

Rody went and picked up Peyton. Rody and Isaac ate pizza and Peyton and I ate broccoli and cheesy rice and pasta...our favorite.

I got some laundry done and then we watched Medicine Women. Then we read the Bible, of course the kids wanted to keep reading. We read where Jacob wrestled with God and had to go meet Esau. I can't wait to read tomorrow night. It is so good!!!

Isaac has felt much better today. Still coughing and a runny nose but not as bad as last night and he was up and about today. Thank God!
The kids went to bed and I caught up on my blog and now I have to fold some laundry and get to bed.
O mom sent me this pic of dad today, so funny,
and this pic of mom with her ride haha

Cant wait for them to be home safe tomorrow. I sure miss them!

1/15/22

Today we got up and decided to go back to the estate sale. Rody went first and got the lens for Isaacs camera and a couple other things. Then Peyton and I went. I got a roll of electric tape and a box cutter for 25 cents, and little old bottle that said Pfizer for 10 cents. I also got this safe for $3.50. Everything was 75% off today, that's why everything was so cheap. The safe was back behind some wood and under a table saw. I don't even know what made me dig it out. I didn't know it was a safe till I got home, I just thought it was like a little steel cabinet. I had to carry it up half the basement steps by myself, while a bunch of guys just looked the other way. About half way up the steps, I felt like I was going to faint, it was so heavy to carry by myself. I was going one step at a time but it was so hard. Then the guy that worked there started helping me. After he realized I couldn't do it anymore, he told me he would get it the rest of the way. I was breathing so hard. I paid for it and then went home to get my car. When I came back I saw a guy and his daughter lifting a Curio cabinet in the driveway. I got right in there and helped them, they were so appreciative, it was very old and I could see the girl was struggling. I definitely knew, after my experience on the steps, that I was going to help, like I wanted help! They told me thankyou and the guy asked if I needed help carrying anything out. I said no, even though I wanted so bad to say yes. Luckily I only had to go down the porch steps, and down the driveway. Haha I got it down the driveway, but not without a struggle. Got it in the car and when I got home, I definitely had Rody help me get it in the house. It took me 2 hr's to clean it up. It had a circle burn spot on top that I had to sand down and the whole thing was covered in some really sticky grease. I cut my fingers in 3 different spots. I used sharpie markers to blend in the top. It was a circle of white in the upper left corner where the burn was and a big scrape down the middle. I can hardly tell now. Wish I would of taken a before picture. When I first got it home, I didn't even know it looked like wood, it was so dirty and had yellow paint all over it.

my battle wounds lol the one under my finger hurts really bad. My fingernails are still dirty from the black stuff that I was scraping off of it.

I love this old combination lock.
I looked it up and I found a few that sold for $525 and up. I love it!
Here is a picture of the top, where the burn and the scrape were. In person, if you didn't know, its pretty unnoticable.

Anyway, I'm pretty proud of my find. For $3.50, it was supposed to be $3.75 but I didn't have a 3rd quarter haha

Peyton dancing for me, haha she doesn't know that I got a pic of her.

I decided to look up the little plastic doll. I found out she is a 1920's German Doll House Doll. Pretty neat that she is 100 old doll, held together by strings for 100 years...wow!

And the Pfizer bottle is from 1956. It was a psychotherapeutic agent used to treat schizophrenia. I just thought it was cool since I had the Pfizer booster.

(I didn't open this bottle until Sunday, but inside was clip on earrings blanks. The kids both loved clipping them to their ears. And of course I didn't get any pics.)

After dinner, Isaac started coughing really hard and a ton. I thought he might have a fever the way he was acting, he could barely stand up. No fever.

We watched 3 Medicine Woman Episodes tonight. Then read the Bible.

During Medicine Women, Isaac started feeling pretty horrible. I gave him some cough syrup, and then had him get in the shower so he could breathe in the steam, he sounded horrible. The steam helped a lot, he stayed in there for about 40 minutes. After the shower he went to sleep he was coughing much less. I was really worried about him and kept checking on him.

We were so bummed, Adam was supposed to come spend the night tomorrow, now that Isaac is sick, we have to make it another night. And to make it even worse, I found out Jacob had planned on coming too...double bummer!!! Adam and I had planned on opening my Saginaw-opoly and were going to play it.

I cleaned up the house and did laundry and then went to bed.

Talked to Kimmy a lot today, and mom a couple times too. Mom and dad are in Iowa.

1/14/22

Another day with cars parked in the street and in front of my driveway. UGH

At work Natalie gave me a big bag of glowsticks for the kids. When we got home they opened the bag and it was a ton of different kinds of glow sticks. The kids were so excited. We opened a few and were going to save the rest for special occasions and camping.

Isaac was coughing a little bit today, we were supposed to go to Vershon's birthday party, but Rody just drove the kids down there to wave hi to them from the car. They gave us food and cake to bring home. Aunt Ann made fried catfish, chicken strips, spaghetti, and some other stuff. It was all good. I tasted her catfish last time she made it and it was really good.

We watched Medicine Woman and then read the Bible, still in Genesis, the story about Jacob and Rebecca, Isaac listened from bed and Peyton wanted to read more, but I just want to take one chapter at a time and really let it soak in. Its so good!!! Even I wanted to keep reading but I said no. haha

1/13/22

This morning I got up to take the kids to school. There were tons of vehicles parked up and down our street. I didn't know what was going on, but when I got back there was an estate sale just a couple houses down the street. When I was leaving for work, there was a truck parked across half my driveway. It was hard to back out with all the cars on the street and I didn't even think I could fit through all the cars so I had to take Weiss to work. Luckily it wasn't out of the way.

We walked down to the estate sale. There was so much stuff in the house it was unbelievable. We were in there for 2 hours. Isaac got a cannon camera, which he is totally stoked about. Peyton got a bed for her American Girl Doll. She's been wanting a bed for her for a while now since her old one broke. I got an old tuggie doll that i had when I was a little girl. Aunt Linda gave me it, so it is special to me. I also got a little old doll, I have no clue what it is, but it looks old. It was only $1.

Isaacs camera

my tuggie
creepy old doll. haha

We watched Medicine Woman and then read the Bible and the kids went to bed. I cleaned up the house and did laundry and then went to bed,

1/12/22

I got the kids up for school and Isaac was crying because he had a bad tummy ache. I can usually just keep him going if he is faking, but today he really wasn't feeling good. I decided to use a personal day today and took the day off. I took Peyton to school and then came home and ate breakfast, then I laid down till about 10. Isaac laid on the couch all day. He watched Dog with a Blog.

He ate a little bit here and there but didn't have much of an apatite.
I went and got Peyton and we decided to go look for the game Phase10. We went to Walmart but they were sold out. We went to McDonalds and got drinks. They gave me sweet tea instead of unsweetened tea. I almost puked.
After that we went to Walgreens, they were sold out of Phase10. Then we went to Kroger, they had it but it was $7.21 and its only $3.48 at Walmart. So I drove across town and went to the other Walmart, they were sold out. So we went to Target, they were sold out. Then we decided to go to Big Lots, they had it but it was $6. I asked the manager if they would price match and he did, so I got it for $3.48. I was so happy!

We went to the dollar store, Peyton wanted to see if they had the game that Nana was talking about. She wanted to surprise her and get her some. They had them. We told Nana because we didn't want Nana to go get them, since we got them haha.

We got home and ate dinner. Peyton cleaned her room and Isaac was feeling a lot better. After her room was clean, we played Phase10, she loved it. I won!

After that we watched a Medicine Woman, and then read the Bible, the kids were begging to read another chapter, it made me so happy. But I told them no, so we could look forward to it tomorrow.

Kenzie sent me a lot of great pictures of her house today. I looked up what I had of before pictures. Couldn't find the good ones I took. I think its because I got a new phone. I'll post the before and after pics I have now.

This is the kitchen

This is the floor and the trim before the washer and dryer and refrigerator were put in.

Before and after of the entryway.
And here are some more she sent me of the house.

They are doing a great job. I'm proud of them for taking on such a huge project and doing such a good job, all on their own.

6/3/23

Today we went to Kenzies. Rody hasn't been to her house yet so I was excited for him to go there. He was coming with us so he could loo...
