What a sad day today turned out to be. Rody’s mom fell so Aunt Ann called and asked if I could come help get her up. She didn’t want Rody because she was getting dressed and fell, so she didn’t have any clothes on.
I went down there and got her up into the chair. She wanted to rest so I told her to sit in her chair while I ran home (6 hoses down the road) and got my shampooer. There was a little mess on the floor she wanted me to clean up. She just kept saying she needs to sit and catch her breath. When I got home, I told Rody he should come with me because if she falls again, he could help me. She was much heavier than I expected. He came and stayed downstairs. I got her in bed, and we were talking to her and told her we should call 911, because she was really weak. She said no, and then she started to act funny. I called Rody to come up and he told her he was calling 911. She started going in and out of consciousness. The paramedics arrived like 20 min later. They got her right on the ground and started doing CPR. They worked on her for over 2 hrs. Grammy passed away. What a horrible night! I knew I had to go home and tell the kids. Mom and dad were at one of Kimmy’s boys concert, so I called them over and over until I got ahold of them. They came and mom stayed with the kids until we got home and Dad came to Grammy’s with me. After they took Grammy out, I went up to clean the carpet. There was a big blood stain where she was laying on the floor. It was so hard to get it out of the carpet. After a while we went home. We told the kids and then Nana and Papa left. It was the hardest thing to tell the kids. We didn’t sleep at all that night.
This is the only picture I got today.

The last picture before the sad news.

We spent all day at Grammy’s with Aunt Ann and Vershon. Jamie is flying home and will be here this evening. Aunt Ann and Rody and I went up to the bedroom to look for Grammys life insurance papers, and funeral arrangement papers and stuff like that. We couldn’t find them anywhere, then we went into her office and she had laid everything we needed out on the bed. She knew. She was prepared for this. It gave us a sort of peace that she knew.

5/6

This is Amy from my work. Today they had a teacher appreciation luncheon for all of us staff at White Pine. I didn’t want to go, but everyone thought I should go. So I did. I’m glad I did, it was fun. Mom kept the kids while I went. Then we went to Grammys. The kids sat on the steps while us adults went through stuff.
Mom made us sloppy joes and potatoes. Everyone was so happy to have food! It was so good!

Leah sent me pics of the kids prom pictures. They sure have grown up since the last time I saw them!!!

5/8 Happy Mothers Day. First Mother’s Day without Grammy :(

Best mom in the world…we love you so much mom!!!

Mom Sue and I

We were all having so much fun. Chuck and Sue left. She forgot her plant so she came back to get it, and we didn’t know she came back. I saw someone fall and I thought it was Peyton, but I realized it was Sue. We all ran over and Sue was laying on the deck. She said her hip was hurting and she couldn’t get up. We had to call an ambulance. Wow, it was crazy!
They came and got her and Charlie followed them to the hospital.

Later on Charlie called and said Sue broke her femur. Poor Sue. What a wild day this turned out to be.
Even with all the wildness, and all the sadness, I am so happy and thankful I have my mom. She is the best and I wouldn’t change a thing about her. I wish I was more like her. Happy Moms Day Mom! I love you!

Yesterday I found this electric lawn mower on the side of the road on the way to mom and dads. We picked it up and of course Rody knew the people. They gave him the charger and key and stuff. He needs something to work on to keep his mind occupied. Well today he worked on it for like 10 min and got it working. And it works great!!! It’s so light and easy to run. Isaac loves it!

These pics are so funny. We pulled into Nanas driveway and Kit Kat came to see us.

A paw and a head
A arm and head

“I think she’s coming in here mom”
She’s in hahaha

We got Rody’s moms Obituary done. There are a couple errors but we fixed them.

Jacob, Adam, and Eli (who she called Pretty Eyes) are going to be her pallbearers, which I think is really special.

5/12
Peyton and Lenny played in the sprinkler today

5/13 Grammys Funeral Day :(
The kids and Uncle J. He has sure helped us out big time, we are thankful he is here!!!
Me and my babies
I sure love them!
Our family!
I took a pic of the boys carrying Grammys casket.

After the funeral, mom and dad took everyone to Olive Garden. This was so sweet of them! I can’t even believe they did it. It sure brought smiles to our faces and Rody’s family’s faces. Thank you mom and dad!!!
After the Funeral and stuff mom and I went to church for a woman’s meeting. They were serving an ice cream Sunday buffet and we played games and stuff. It was fun hanging out with mom and some of the ladies from church.

Travis made this sweatshirt for Rody. He did all the drawing on it.
5/14
Hanging out with Uncle J
Feeding the squirrel bread. He was coming pretty close.

Rody got a couple windchimes from some people. We can’t wait to hang them. This one made him cry.

5/16
Peyton at her Choir practice. She’s the one on the bottom left.
Aunt Debbie stopped by moms while I was there to drop off some more shirts. We all had one on so we had to get a picture.
Then we all went to Olive Garden, Aunt Debbies treat. It sure was good!
We came home and Isaac was very excited to cut the grass.
5/17
Took the dogs to the dog park today.
5/18
Today we went and visited Sue. I snuck some pictures lol. We got her up and out of bed and took her on a walk all over.

A goldendoodle lives at the rehab where she is staying. The kids loved that!
Painting a birdhouse at the rehab.

5/20
The kids could take their phones to school today. They took a ton of pics with their friends.

We stopped at a garage sale today. Peyton found this tiny tears doll like Nanas. So we offered them $7 and at first they said no, but then they changed their mind. Peyton was so happy to have Nanas same doll.
5/21.
We are going to be moving into Rody’s moms soon so I decided to get a little packing done. Aunt Ann is still living there, so we are waiting til she moves back into her house.

5/22
This sure made me chuckle

5/23
Peyton is so good at braiding now. She is a fast learner.
Rody surprised me with all of the Office seasons on DVD. Haha

5/24
This morning I woke up really sick. I could barely lift my head. I had to call into work. Took a test and sure enough…I have covid. UGH! All this time and I haven’t been sick and now Covid. Fun Fun!
I sat out on the porch all evening with the dogs.

The kids played outside a lot today.
Firsts positive covid test in the Monroe family. :(

5/25-5/31 The next week is kinkof a blur for me. We were stuck at home, all of us got covid. First me, then Isaac, then Peyton, then Daddy. Isaac and I had it the worst, but only for a day and a half each. Isaac had fever, cough, runny nose, headache, and just felt icky. Peyton only ever had a scratchy throat. Rody had a dry throat, and cough. So we didn’t get it too bad. Mom dropped off vitamins and some medicine for us.
Sunset over the house across the street. Looks like the house was on fire.
Aunt Ann cooked for us
The kids made brownies which none of us liked. I think they forgot to put something in them or put too much oil or something.
We were stuck at home also we got a ton of stuff packed for our big move.

Melissa and her family stopped by and brought us drinks and ice cream.

Rody loved hanging in his hammock.
Rody tried and failed to get some packing paper out of our tree.

That’s the end of May! What a crazy month its been.
